issue 38 ♡ asking a dragon to enter your life can lead to powerful shifts in your home and lifestyle.
dear doris. what does (the year of) the dragon signify? ps. do dragons actually exist? love madame dragonfly
dearest madame dragonfly,
happy lunar new year!
it’s the year of the dragon so it felt fitting that this question popped up from the collective consciousness and appeared on the pages. i tune into my higher self doris in part I to gain a higher perspective on the relevance and reverence for dragons. in part II we share how dragon spirit can be invited into your home to serve and be of value in your physical space. this week relates to previous issue 32 ♡ the one on feng shui.
through this dragon year, i am continuing to publish an issue every sunday. for free subscribers, every fortnightly newsletter will be free to read in its entirety. paid subscribers will receive dear doris weekly and have access to the full archive, comments and audio voiceover. thank you for being here. i adore this platform and the reader-ship here :)
part I.
i was at our local hole-in-the-wall coffee shop the other day, being served by the eccentric ginger-haired dude who runs it. he’s wearing an oversized hawaiian shirt laden with black dragons. hey, nice shirt. year of the dragon, i say. is it? he responds. yup, ya’ must have tapped into the dragon-ian vibes, i reply. he pauses for a moment with the milk jug poised in one hand and then leans over the counter with a loud whisper, this might sound crazy but — i think dragons exist.
dragons live among us humans in alternative realms and dimensions. they astral travel and traverse the realms and explore through the space time continuum. they are expansive creatures here to help guide and alleviate suffering on earth. they have always been here however at some point in human his-story we decided we did not believe in them any more and from then on, what you don’t believe you fail to see with our 3D eyes — so in the third eye they remain.
if we allow ourselves to believe and trust that they exist, that they are fiery but only in a protective sense. they are linked to the fire element and represent strength, courage, valour, passion and purpose driven by a masculine lineage in dragon-ian times here currently on earth, echoing humanity and the yang era we currently reside within.
from the fire dragon it will shift into water dragon energy — feminine just like we will on middle earth plane as humans. the water dragons bring peace and serenity and balance and order to our worlds but not without turbulence and tumultuous times before their reign.
dragons are beautiful, wonder-full creatures to tune into and play with in our minds eye. they can take you across galaxies and time travel through the continuum of multiple realities. tune into the power and source of your dragon as they are here to guide you, just as you help them energetically by shifting atoms/energy/balls/magick dust in your reality. dragon ball energy is legit. use it to your advantage.
dragons have lived on earth realm for a long, long time. they arrived from another planetary system to invite others to their faraway realm/planes of existence. humans chose to bond and protect these dragons many many millennia ago in other kingdoms and another plane of existence where we and these so-called fantastical mythological creatures co-existed, during the lemurian and even early atlantian ages of human-kind.
however at some point, our mental bodies began rapidly developing leaving no room or spacial awareness of these darling dragons. for once were, was soon lost, as we lost the magick in believing and began casting a veil over our own eyes physically so that soon it was only those with their third eye lens intact could in fact contact and still co-habitate or co-exist with these wonderful creatures.
dragons are here firstly for protection. they protect mother gaia earth from predatory species who may intend negative or harmful situations upon earth. secondly, dragons are here for virtue. they are a symbol and signifier of strength — not to be mistaken for power in the egoic sense — strength that comes firing from within and passion that burns within and leads into outer action. they are forever bound by love, virtue and inner strength.
to have a dragon spirit watch over you is an immense blessing and a wise choice of your incarnation to choose this wondrous creature to help you complete your mission here on earth.
dragons are a reminder that we will be in every imaginable form possible in our imaginations and that love is ever present. other worlds and realms exist and serve to keep the mind open. it’s not fantasy, it all exists. despite what we look like and what body or creature or skin we inhabit, despite what age we move through or time we move through — love is the constant of life.
your inner dragon or your dragon spirit is a representation of you and your soul journey and all the lives lived. he/she/they may be green, red, purple, blue or yellow or even pink. your dragon chooses its skin much like how you choose your avatar as your skin and body-case or meat-suit. dragons represent valour and love and passion, yet also have a gentler unseen side. they are loyal companions, not much different to a dog really — in terms of loyalty and bond to their human counterparts.
part II.
place a dragon in an open spot in your home, where you wish for action to take place, motivated by heart intentions. use dragon force/power for good — in the sense that you cannot use dragon energy for your own material or ego-driven gain, as it will only serve to backfire and double down on you. double dragon happiness can also lead to double dragon detriment. be careful how you use this source of power, as the dragon is a gatekeeper and will only let those with true and brave hearts fly into the next level of soul ascension.
drawing a dragon or seeing a dragon or asking a dragon to enter your life can lead to powerful shifts in your home and lifestyle. dragons are often seen placed on roofs and pillars and decorative clothing and adornments of the chinese for many millennia. the chinese were the last to dispel the dynasty of the dragons. they were the last to see them in physical form, before we banished them to another plane of existence — out of sight, out of mind.
bring love, hope, prosperity into your home by inviting this tremendous creature into your etheric and physical space — it will do no harm. dragons have been patiently awaiting human return to the esoteric and the belief that all things can exist in some shape or form and to suspend your disbelief — to invite double happiness and double dragon energy into your life.
gong hei fat choi.
may dragon spirit be with you.

it's a funny feeling being taken under the wing of a dragon. it's warmer than you’d think.
