dear doris. what are next week's lotto numbers? love mister john doe
dear mister doe
this weeks answer come in two parts — part I answered from my earth-bound lens as dee a former lottery loser and part II is a channelled answer from the higher self doris. this newsletter relates back to previous issue 14 on creation action and issue 20 on finding purpose. kindly note that ‘god’ could be substituted for any venerable you prefer and the reference to ‘heaven’ for a non-physical plane that resonates with you.
part I
i met a dude recently at a photo shoot — an older distinguished gentleman of 63 years and a model on a lifestyle shoot. he asked me what i do, to which i answered, "for paid work i work as a freelance stylist, content creator and manage our studio. for passion and purpose driven work — which is trickling into paid work — i have written a book and write a newsletter called dear doris” and gave a brief rundown of the woo and tang that goes on here. he looked pensive for a moment and ventured, “so can i ask what next week’s lotto numbers are?”.
i was taken aback. it was a question i never would have anticipated or thought to propose to spirit for an answer. i scratched my head and replied, “well, its out of my usual realm but i guess you could. i do believe if the question is asked with intention to receive an authentic answer, then ask and you shall receive”. i decided to leave the question hanging in the air and retreated back to my shack studio.
later that day, i sat down to meditate asked to receive whatever needed to come through for the day. what came through first was the jackpot answer to the question of lottery i thought i had left hanging. then it triggered a memory of when i was on a reality television game show top design in my late twenties — i know right — where the prize to win 100K was at stake.
towards the end of production with two episodes to go — i abruptly decided to leave the show. i had been doing ‘well’ and winning challenges, however deeply anxious, homesick and broken out with a full body eczema over the two months of filming while living in a closed set house with ten contestants, being followed around by cameras trying to catch you at your most vulnerable and skewing the truth in an attempt to stir drama and dee-sasters.
it never occurred to me or even crossed my mind in those moments, that if i just persisted and scratched my way through, i could win the one hundred thousand dollar golden carrot dangling before us. i knew i had run out of creative juice and needed to rest and i desperately wanted to go home to see paint guy
and jump into the ocean to ease my weary itchy soul.so i ditched the once-in-a-incarnation chance to win the lotto ticket and unceremoniously left the top design building. before i left, i said to the other contestant vying for the prize — that if i helped him win the final challenge — that i would like a pair of leather shorts by arabella ramsay in return. he agreed and we shook hands. he won the final challenge and the 100K prize and i went back to the beaches, got my cuddles and leather shorts in buttery yellow.
part II.
this question is one that begs an answer from source as to how-will-i-gain-monetary-reward-for-not-doing-the-work-on-earth? to that i answer, i have no eyed-deer, my dear darling. money or financial gain through trickery or gizmodic or game-show behaviour is one that leads to no gain in soul wealth. if you wish for money for no particular reason or rationale, we must peek into the chakras and where the propensity for sudden wealth truly stems from.
