dear doris. how did you meet paint guy?
issue 13 ♡ soul connections & contracts with a love(r)
dear doris. how did you meet paint guy? love moki, mona vale, australia.
dear moki,
the answer to your question of this match up is channelled from my higher self doris through meditation, journaling and transcribed into part one. the second is from my lens as dee and my earth-bound experience in meeting paint guy.
kindly note that ‘god’ could be substituted for any vernacular or venerable you prefer and heaven can be replaced with the spirit realm that aligns with you.
part 1.
the idea of soul mates is an age old one, as if there is one soul only for you. this is rarely the case, as you can have up to ten soul connections with intimate relationships with them — intimate as in close, tight and super bonded rather than sexual. the idea of one, is one that is a fantastical affair, born out of the fear of familial displacement — that parents would roam free and willy nilly if they could, to please the pleasures of their sacral chakra — the pleasure seeking spot in our alignment on earth.
however we can and do have generally one or two maybe three soul connections with a love(r) that spans multiple lifetimes. occasionally they are fresh and new to you but more often than not, they are old flames from previous or future lives. you will feel a deep connection almost instantaneously with these ones. they spark a kind of flare inside us — literally an old flame rekindled and burning bright for another go, on earth and this incarnation.
you may feel intoxicated or heady from this meeting, this flame ignited. this blast from the way back past past (lives). you may feel discombobulated or jolted inside. you will feel a sense of familiarity in their presence — a comfort, a kind of cushioning, like relaxing on an old lounge or much loved sofa.
however, occasionally the connection or set up is new(er). you may have known each other from previous incarnations but not as star-crossed lovers, not as kinship, mate-ship, soul-ship and the introduction is cute, sweet, kismet — but you are yet to find footing together. in those instances you have to work to align your souls in the same/similar vibrations to match your soul journey together.
it can take multiple lifetimes before you reach a state of equilibrium, equanimity, equinox in your passage of life together. this takes much work and energy particularly if one soul is younger than the other and the match is deliberately mismatched, with one taking on the role as the teacher and the other younger soul student, in the realm of reality on earth.
sometimes, this is a great task to undertake for the teacher/partner soul as it takes patience, wisdom, and much guidance to carry out this role incarnated as a human being — free of concepts gifted from the high heavens. it takes years sometimes to settle into this role and sometimes the relationship fizzles before you can settle into the role or become aware of the situation-ship.
but don’t fret my pet, as everyone has a go at role-reversing, playing the role of the teacher/student. he or she or we or they. we all have a go when we are ready for the ultimate universal challenge of soul connecting with another star-being either here on earth or another galaxy.
desmond (paint guy) is a warrior archetype. he has played this role many many times over. however in this incarnation he has chosen to incarnate as a father/artist/teacher archetype. he met dee, so he could let his ‘guard’ down — literally, physically, mentally and spiritually.
she helps guide his soul in a way unseen and unheard and unspoken of, by allowing the way of the artist and teacher to be in true essence and light and on a pedestal of love and affection so the warrior of previous lives lived can rest his weary head. he can take off his heavy armour and belt of art-illery and lay them to rest. which is best for him now, in this incarnation filled with family, familial duties and learning the art of balancing service to the heart and art — the greater expression of the human condition and reflecting natures beauty back onto us.
they met under a planned execution from their time prior to incarnation, that they would meet at age 28 and 34 respectively and their worlds would collide with their yearning to create a life filled with creative energy gifted from source. this was the plan before they could even stand, let alone speak.
we set ourselves up to be together for a season, reason or lifetime(s). we are here to learn soul lessons and sometimes gifted with a soul partner to help carry out our mission on earth. these lives are precious — to experience the physical world together, to suffer, to burn, to love and to indulge in the fruits of life as a physical entity.
cherish these souls who impact your live(s) so profoundly and help guide you through the dirt, debris and delicacy of life. learn to love them exactly as they are in their very current state of existence — exactly as they speak, do, say, make hay, nay say — and pray for a day where you will understand that you chose this life together, through thick or thin, far and wide, from here to the other side and you chose to abide by unconditional love, that you hold from the high heavens/higher consciousness.
life is like a box of chocolates — you choose the ones you want. indulge and savour the moment and flavour of life and that very particular chocolate you chose to consume and enjoy in this incarnation and game of life.
part II.
you could say i met paint guy through the way of god or grace or was it gemma ward — the west australian supermodel whom back in july 2006 graced the cover of british vogue magazine in an iconic high summer shoot shot by the late corinne day.
i was living on a green tea field in the shizuoka prefecture of japan and in tokyo for the weekend, devouring international magazines on the umpteenth floor of tower records in shibuya. i picked up the latest vogue, flicking to the summer shoot with gemma set in a location — i would learn later to be the northern beaches of sydney — that burned into my retina. the balmy air, the swaying palms and psychedelic sprays on the retro boards and old skool surf paraphernalia etched into my mind forever.
i kept a magazine tear sheet of the shoot, the cosmic twin fin and gemma in my room, on a mood board in those pre-pinterest days of being a design student at RMIT in melbourne. i asked around, how to learn to airbrush these kind of mystical magical scenes and ended up in a conversation with my ex-surfer-boyfriend. he informed me that he recently met a dude on the beach — an airbrush artist — and could set up a lesson for me, next time i was back in western australia.
some months later, i was back in west oz and i order coffee to take to the airbrushing lesson that the ex has hooked up for me. in my mind, the airbrush dude looks exactly like how i imagined an airbrush guy to look like — you know, an ol’ salty dog curmudgeon perennially in shorts no matter what the weather, with tanned twiggy surfer legs and wide shoulders in a one hundred percent aussie wool knit he’s worn since the 70’s (not vintage just never let it go).
i call the ex while i park the car, to check what airbrush guy’s name is again. “it’s d-e-s. like dee but one letter different to your name”. i hear his eyeballs rolling through the phone. the door opens and a tall, dark-haired, handsome bearded guy greets me with a big smile and warm twinkly eyes. i hand him a coffee and walk in — to the rest of my life.
within a season and with serendipity on my side, i find myself shacked up — literally in a shack — with airbrush guy, back where he was born in the northern beaches and which i learned, served as the scenic backdrop to the iconic vogue shoot that was burned into my brain and where our yet-to-be-incarnated girls would be born. it was also there, that i met gemma in person, who so happened to live in the same small beach town for that moment of her life — and that my firstborn baby kawa would walk right up to her and smile. which goes to show you — that ex-boyfriends do serve a great purpose.
